Taiwan has depicted decline in imports for the month of July’18. The imports recorded at 1.81 MnT, down 22% as against June’18 imports at 2.33 MnT .On yearly premises, the imports in July’18 recorded similar decline by 21% as against imports in June’17 at 2.29 MnT.
For the duration, Jan-July’18, the Taiwan iron ore imports witnessed at 13.62 MnT, down 10% as against same duration last year (Jan-July’17) at 15.05 MnT.
The Non-agglomerated ore (Lump and Fines) imports witnessed 30% decline in July’18 to 1.52 MnT as against 2.18 MnT in last month. The Y-o-Y imports in July’18 recorded fall of 23% compared to 1.98 MnT in July’17.
Agglomerated ore (pellets and concentrates) imports in July’18 recorded increase to two folds on monthly basis at 0.3 MnT as against 0.15 MnT in June’18. However, the Y-o-Y change depicted marginal decline as against 0.31 MnT in July’17.
Taiwan crude steel output increased in July’18
Taiwan crude steel production in July’18 is expected at 2.04 MnT, up 4% as against 1.97 in June’18.
Australian iron ore exports to Taiwan down 40% M-o-M
Australia continues to be the largest exporter of iron ore to Taiwan in July’18 at 1.13 MnT (down 40% M-o-M) accounting for 62% of total Taiwan’s imports share for the month. Brazil stood second largest exporter at 0.53 MnT (up 18% M-o-M).
Canada exports for the month recorded at 0.14 MnT as against being nil a months before.
