Taiwan has recorded marginal decline in imports for the month of Apr’18. The imports recorded at 2.04 MnT, slightly down as against Mar’18 imports at 2.1 MnT .On yearly premises, the imports in Apr’18 recorded fall of 14% as against imports in Apr’17 at 2.37 MnT.
For the duration Jan-Apr’18, the imports witnessed at 7.81 MnT, down 10% Y-o-Y as against 8.71 MnT in Jan-Apr’17.
The Non-agglomerated ore (Lump and Fines) witnessed marginal decline in Apr’18 at 1.72 MnT as against 1.8 MnT in last month. The Y-o-Y imports in Apr’18 recorded sharp decline by 22% compared to 2.21 MnT in Apr’17.
Agglomerated ore (pellets and concentrates) imports in Apr’18 recorded a minor increase to 0.31 MnT as against 0.3 MnT in Mar’18. However, the Y-o-Y change in Apr’18 depicted significant increase in imports by almost two-folds as against 0.16 MnT in Apr’17.
Australian iron ore exports to Taiwan increased by 7% M-o-M
Australia continues to be the largest exporter of iron ore to Taiwan in Apr’18 at 1.55 MnT (up 7% M-o-M) accounting for three-fourth of total Taiwan’s imports share for the month. Brazil stood second largest exporter at 0.34MnT(down 33% M-o-M), contributing 17% of Taiwan’s import share.
Canada exported the remaining 7% of total export share at 0.14 MnT for the month. Canadian exports to Taiwan recorded stable on monthly basis.
