SteelMint’s weekly Odisha iron ore fines index (Fe 62%) increased by around INR 350/t w-o-w to INR 3,600/t ex-mines. Monsoons have resulted in limited merchant miners offering material this week, which has lent support to prices.
Iron ore concentrate offers in Jabalpur, central India increased following the NMDC price hike and due to tight availability amid the ongoing monsoon season.
SteelMint’s daily steel billet index was assessed at INR 49,500/tonne (t) (- INR 200/t) exw-Raipur on 13 August, 2022.
