Pellet movement through railway has declined by 9% in July, 2014 as compared to June owing to falling availability of Pellet in the market. Gagan ferrotech has loaded 8 rakes from Jindal Power, Arya Iron & steel and Brahmani River. In Jul’14, Tata Steel loaded 3 rakes from Brahmani River against 8 rakes in June.
It is noticeable that movement fell significantly from Arya Iron & Steel, which has a merchant capacity of 1.2 MnT, Bhushan Steel & Power that uses Pellets for self consumption and Jindal Steel & Power as Sarda mines is un-operational since April, 2014.
