Southern India based rebar makers raise gauge parity by INR 500-1,500/t

The rebar manufacturers in Hyderabad (Telangana) have revised gauge parity & increased it by INR 500/t for 12-25 mm & about INR 1,500/t for 10 mm, effective from today (29 Dec). As per SteelMint analysis, at present the producers have sufficient margins but since the demand is strong and inventories are low, the re-rollers are taking advantage to further gain their margins. The monthly average conversion spread (from billet to 12mm rebar) is recorded at INR 4,400/t in Dec, up by INR 1,100/t against Nov.
