South Korea’s coking coal imports rise 25% in Jan’22

South Korea’s coking coal imports in Jan’22 was 1.77 mnt, up by 25% y-o-y basis. The average purchase price of coking coal during the month stood at $303/t, CIF basis, up by 200% y-o-y. The country imported 0.98 mnt of hard coking coal during the same month up by 122% y-o-y whose average price stood st $340/t, CIF basis, as per country’s customs data.
