South Korean Flat Steel Export Falls by 4% in Sep’16

According to customs data of South Korea, country’s flat steel exports under HS code 7208 (hot rolled products), 7209 (cold rolled products), and 7225 (electrical sheets) have registered a fall of 4.25% M-o-M basis in Sep’16. The same is recorded at 1.35 MnT in Sep’16 against 1.41 MnT in Aug’16.

However, if Y-o-Y comparison is done country’s flat steel exports have plunged by 6.25% in Sep’16 against Sep’15 as the flat steel exports of South Korea in Sep’15 stood at 1.44 MnT.

In first nine months of 2016 from Jan-Sep, South Korea’s flat steel exports are recorded at 12.02 MnT, which stood at 12.65 MnT in corresponding period of previous year.

In current year, the country’s flat products exports are majorly directed towards China followed by Japan and US.Out of the total exports of 12.02 MnT in nine months of 2016, exports to India are recorded at 1.26 MnT.
