POSCO’s blast furnace no. 4 at the Gwangyang works is undergoing repair, as per a SteelDaily report. The repair and maintenance work will be carried out over 120 days from 11 Feb to 10 Jun. Production loss is estimated at around 1.76 mnt, with the company’s CY’22 guidance standing at 36.5 mnt against steel production of 38.26 mn t in CY’21. POSCO plans to minimise exports in order to address supply challenges in the domestic market.
