South Korea: Heavy plates production, sales rise in Jan’22

South Korea’s heavy plates production and sales both grew on a monthly and annual basis in Jan’22, SteelDaily reports.

• Production volumes stood at 821,918 tonnes (t) in Jan’22, up 5.8% against Dec’21 and 6.7% from Jan’21.
• Total sales aggregated to 812,748 t in Jan’22 – up 8.2% m-o-m and 5.2% y-o-y.
• Domestic sales accounted for 642,455 t out of the total sales, an increase of 6.6% and 16.6% from Dec’21 and Jan’21.
