South Korean Flat Steel Exports Up by 3% in Oct’16

According  to  customs  data  of  South  Korea,  country’s  flat  steel  exports  under  HS  code  7208  (hot rolled products),  7209  (cold rolled products), and  7225  (electrical sheets)  have  increased  by  3% ,M-o-M  basis  in  Oct’16. The  same  is  recorded  at  1.39 MnT  in  Oct 16  against  1.35 MnT  in  Sep’16.

However,  if  Y-o-Y  comparison  is  done  country’s  flat  steel  exports  have  witnessed  the  downfall  of  9%  in  Oct’16  against  Oct’15  as  the  flat  steel  exports  of  South  Korea  in Sep’15  stood  at  1.52 MnT.

In  first  ten  months  of  2016  from  Jan-Oct,  South  Korea’s  flat  steel  exports  moved down  by  5%  and  stood  at  13.41  MnT,  which  was  14.17  MnT  in  corresponding  period of  previous  year.

In  current  year,  the  country’s  flat  products  exports  are  majorly  directed  towards China  followed  by  Japan  and  US.Out  of  the  total  exports  of  13.43  MnT  in  ten  months  of  2016 , exports  to India  are  recorded  at  1.45 MnT.
