South Korea: Ferro Alloy Imports Down by 14% M-o-M in Sep’17

According to the South Korean customs, the country has witnessed a decrease of 14% M-o-M in its Ferro Alloy imports.

In Sep’17, South Korea imported a total of 0.06 MnT Ferro Alloys against 0.07 MnT in Aug’17. Moreover, on yearly basis, there has been a decrease in its imports by 25% Y-o-Y against 0.08 MnT in Sep’16.

In Sep’17, Korea imported 0.05 MnT of Ferro Chrome whereas Ferro Silicon was not procured. However, South Korea registered a substantial increase of 67% M-o-M in its Ferro Chrome imports. The import volume of Silico Manganese remained unchanged at 0.01 MnT in Sep’17.

South Africa regains its position of being the largest exporter of Ferro Alloys to South Korea at 0.02 MnT in Sep’17. India remained the second largest exporter at 0.01 MnT while China did not export much during the period.
