Russia is the 8th largest exporter of iron ore. It exported 1.71 MnT iron ore in Aug’17, according to the trade statistics released by Russian Customs.
Iron ore exports have witnessed an increase of 10% M-o-M against 1.56 MnT in Jul’17. Russia’s iron ore exports were also up 14% Y-o-Y compared with same month last year which was stood at 1.5 MnT then.
In the first eight months of 2017 Russia iron ore exports was up 16% to 13.78 MnT compared to same period last year which was 11.85 MnT.
An agglomerated iron ore (pellets and concentrate) exports were down by 12% M-o-M to 1.14 MnT in Aug’17 against 1.29 MnT in Jul’17. However it was up 39% Y-o-Y compared to Aug’16 which was 0.82 MnT.
A non-agglomerated iron ore (lumps & fines) exports increased more than two times to 0.57 MnT in Aug’17 compared to Jul’17 which was 0.26 MnT. It was down by 16% Y-o-Y compared to Jul’16 which was 0.68 MnT.
Country-wise Iron Ore Export-:
Russian exports in Aug’17 to Turkey were recorded at 0.28 MnT followed by Germany 0.24 MnT and Finland 0.24 MnT, China 0.21 MnT and Ukraine 0.15 MnT.
