In a confirmed deal, 5,000 t of South African RB2 coal (5500 kcal/kg NAR) has been sold at INR 6,000/t ex-Gangavaram (exclusive of cess and GST), up by INR 500/t on a steep surge of $20/t in API4 index in last one week. The index is currently trending at $84/t for Dec ’20 as coal sellers are holding back supply of thermal coal.
