South African RB2 coal portside demand picks up amid rise in sponge prices

In a confirmed deal, 3 rakes of South African RB2 (5500 NAR) coal has been traded at INR 5,500/t (exclusive of cess and GST) ex-Gangavaram, while few trades have also been heard at INR 5,600/t, up by INR 250-300/t against Monday’s trade price. Sponge iron prices in the domestic market have gained momentum (up by INR 600/t) in the last two days following improvement in demand and rise in billet prices.
