South African RB2 coal portside demand picks up amid rise in sponge prices

In a confirmed deal, 3 rakes of South African RB2 coal has been traded at INR 5,500/t (ex. cess and GST) ex-Gangavaram, while few trades have also been heard at INR 5,600/t, up by INR 250-300/t against Monday’s trade price. Domestic sponge iron prices have gained momentum (up by INR 600/t) in last two days following improvement in demand and rise in billet prices.
