South Africa: Ferro chrome exports rise by 34% m-o-m in Nov’22

South Africa’s ferro chrome exports rose by 34% to 0.29 mnt in Nov’22 compared to 0.21 mnt in Oct’22.
China was the largest importer at 0.11 mnt (up 113%) followed by Mozambique at 0.06 mnt and Indonesia at 0.02 mnt.
China’s stainless-steel consumption was favourable in Nov’22 despite the end of the peak season (September-October), keeping ferro chrome demand higher.
Cumulative exports in Jan-Nov’22 stood at 3.17 mnt, down 18% y-o-y.
