It is reported that Russian scrap exports
moved up by 7.1 percent Y-o-Y in the first quarter of the Year 2012. The total amount
of exports reaches 949,000MT.
Turkey remains the top importer of the
Russian scrap with total imports of 442,000MT of Scrap i.e. down by 9.3 percent
followed by South Korea who was the second largest importer with 218,000MT of
Scrap i.e. up by almost 52%, both compared to the period of Q1 2011.
During March 2012, Russians have exported 263,000MT
of Scrap, increasing by 16% from the the same period in 2011.
In March, Russian exporters have exported 124,000MT
of Scrap Turkey and 45,000MT of Scrap to South Korea.
Market sources expect exports to reach nearly
4 million MT in 2012.
