SAIL Issues Purchase Tender for 14,400 MT HC Ferro Manganese

SAIL has invited a open tender for tentative purchase of 14,400 MT HC ferro manganese from indigenous source for its different plants/units.

Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) is the India’s largest steelmaker and produces a variety of steel and iron products including Pig iron, flat and long products and special steels at its plants spread over India.

SAIL intends to procure a tentative quantity of 14,400 MT of High Carbon Ferro Manganese to be supplied in four months Jul’18-Oct’18.

Tender number SAIL/CPA-DSP/HC Ferro-Mn/2017-18/Nov‟17-Oct‟18 Dtd. 16.10.2017 due on 07.11.2017 was issued for SAIL`s annual tentative requirement of 74,550 MT High Carbon Ferro Manganese. Techno-commercial terms & condition were frozen for one year and price discovery is done every four month`s requirement with a provision for inclusion of new eligible vendors at the time of every price discovery. Orders for 1st four-month requirement (Nov`17 to Feb`18) and 2nd four-month requirement (March`18 to June`18) have been finalized. This tender is being issued for empanelment of the new eligible vendor if any for the balance four month`s( July`18 to Oct`18 ) requirement.

Technical specification along with the quantity required in different plants of SAIL :

Chemical specifications:
The material should contain Manganese 70.0% min, Carbon 7.5% max, Silicon 1.5% max, Phosphorous 0.43% max and Sulphur 0.05% max.
