Despite mounting global price pressure on Russian coal, the country’s power sector shows resilience. October electricity output held steady at 102 TWh, with a slight dip in thermal generation (-3% y-o-y) balanced by stronger nuclear (+8%) and hydro (+7%) contributions. With Jan-Oct’25 output down just 1%, a stable domestic demand environment continues to support the energy sector as exporters compete aggressively in Asia.
