Russia: Pig Iron Exports Fall by 42% in July’17

Russia, the world’s largest pig iron exporter has exported about 0.31 pig iron during July 2017, the nation’s custom data showed.

The exports fall by 42.59% M-o-M against second highest export during Jun’17 at 0.54 MnT following 0.66 MnT in Mar’17.

Similar, fall is being reported in the first 7 months of CY17 as the country’s total exports was reported at 2.56 MnT during Jan-Jul’17 against same preceding CY16 at 2.89 MnT.

However, on yearly premises the exports surged in Jul’17 by 34.78% from 0.23 MnT in Jul’16.

Analyzing, yearly exports – in CY16 (Jan-Dec’17) the country’s pig iron exports stood at 5.14 MnT against at 5.34 MnT CY15

Unload Countries

In Jul’17 United States accounted 83% to total pig iron exports from Russia with quantity around 0.26 MnT. In line Belarus, Taiwan, South Korea, Germany & Japan were the major buyers of Russian originated Pig Iron.

In the CY of 2017, the major exports of Pig Iron were from the ports of – Orenburg Region, Tula Region, Lipetsk Region & Sverdlovsk Region.

In CY17 (Jan-Jul) – United States, Turkey, Spain & Italy was the major buyer of Russian made pig iron which imported about 1.73 MnT, 0.20 MnT, 0.17 MnT & 0.11 MnT, respectively.

In context to export prices, global offers for steel grade pig Iron is assessed at USD 380/MT FOB India & USD 375/MT FOB Russia
