Russia: Pig Iron Exports at 5.1 MnT in 2016

Russia, the world’s largest Pig iron exporter has exported 5.1 MnT Pig iron in 2016, according to the trade data released by Russian Customs.

In 2016, Pig iron exports have witnessed a downfall of 3.7% Y-o-Y as exports remained at 5.3 MnT in 2015.

In Dec’16, Russian Pig iron exports was registered at 475,597 MT against 411,483 MT, witnessed a growth of 15.5% M-o-M. On contrary, exports have moved down by 23.3% Y-o-Y as it was 618,356 MT in Dec’15.

1. USA, the largest importer of Russian Pig iron has imported 2.48 MnT Pig iron in 2016 against 2.74 MnT in 2015. In Dec’16, the country exported 212,793 MT Pig iron against 231,800 MT Pig iron to USA in Nov’16.
2. Italy, the second largest Pig iron importer of Russian Pig iron has imported 627,148 MT Pig iron in 2016 against 618,459 MT in 2015. In Dec’16, the country exported 42,392 MT, down by 36.3 % M-o-M and 31%Y-o-Y to Italy.
3. Spain, the third largest Pig iron exporter to Russia has exported 476,701 MT in 2016 against 523,489 MT in 2015. In Dec’16, the country exported 86,577 MT against 1,812 MT in Nov’16. In Dec’15, the country exported 21,015 MT Pig iron.
