Russia: Kuzbass coal production falls by 9% in Jan-Sep’22

Kuzbass, the largest coal mining area in Russia, recorded 162.5 mnt of coal production in Jan-Sep’22 down by 9% y-o-y, as per ministry of coal of Kuzbass. Coking coal production totalled at 48.4 mnt and thermal coal stood at 114.1 mnt for the period. Coal stock as on 1 Oct stood at 18.9 mnt, up by 18% y-o-y due to sanctions by western countries and logistical limitation.
