Russia: HRC export prices to Vietnam drop in recent deals

A leading Russian steelmaker has concluded an export deal of 90,000 t of HRC (SS400, SAE1006) for Jul ’21 shipments, sources informed SteelMint.

• HRC (SS400) is reported to have been booked at $850/t, CFR basis, for 40,000 t.
• HRC (SAE 1006) was booked at around $860/t, CFR. Quantity was 50,000 t.

Last week, the Russian government announced imposition of 15% export duty on all steel products. However, the minimum duty stands at $54 per tonne for the period between 1 Aug and 31 Dec ’21.
