According to Russian customs data, flat steel exports which includes (7208 – HR coils/Plates,7209 – CR coils, 7210, 7212 GP/GC and 7225 electrical sheets) move down by 7% on yearly basis in Sep’17.Nation has exported 0.68 MnT of flat steel in Sep’17 in comparison to 0.73 MnT in Sep’16.
Although on monthly basis,Russia flat steel exports inched up marginally by 1.4% in Sep’17 against Aug’17. In previous month country’s flat steel exports stood at 0.67 MnT.
During first nine months of CY17 (Jan-Aug’17), Russian flat steel exports summed up at 6.99 MnT, marginal up by 1.1% against 6.91 MnT in the similar time-frame of CY16.
Russia Flat steel market remained bearish over subdued demand-Russian flat steel prices registered the decline this week owing to slowdown in construction activities and sluggish demand among the traders in the domestic market.This in turn leads to decline in HRC export offers in global market.Currently HRC export offers are assessed in the range of USD 515-545/MT FoB Black Sea, down by USD 5-15/MT,W-o-W against USD 530-550/MT FoB basis.

Turkey accounts for major portion of exports in Jan-Sep’17- During the span of Jan-Sep’17,Russia has exported 32.08% ( summed up-to 2.25 MnT) of share flat steel to Turkey.Other major countries include Belarus 6.67%, Iran (6%) and Egypt at 6% in similar time period.
However in the month of Sep’17,Russia has exported 0.18 MnT of flat steel to Turkey which is higher by 38% M-o-M basis as compared to 0.13 MnT in Oct’17.Other major importers of Russia in Sep’17 are Belarus (0.05 MnT),Egypt (0.02 MnT) and Iran at (0.09 MnT).
