Russia: Ferrous Scrap Exports Fell 9% M-o-M in May’17

Russia annually exports around 5 MnT ferrous scrap and is one of the world’s major scrap exporters and exported 4.88 MnT in CY16.

After witnessing increase since last two months, Russian ferrous scrap exports fell to 0.39 MnT exports, by 9% in May’17 as a country had exported 0.43 MnT ferrous scrap in Apr’17. Exports were noted at 0.45 MnT in May’16 thus, fall of 13.33 % Y-o-Y has registered in May’17.

In first five months of CY17, Russian ferrous scrap Exports summed up at 1.46 MnT, less 31 % against 2.13 MnT in the same period(Jan-May’16) in CY16.

Top Russian loading ports were North-West Federal district, Far East Federal district and Central Federal district.

Turkey remained the top destination for Russian ferrous scrap in May’17

Turkey’s share was highest at 0.16 MnT ferrous scrap of Russian exports followed by Belarus (0.12 MnT), South Korea (0.07 MnT), Spain (0.03 MnT) and Greece (0.01 MnT).
