Amid surge in coking coal prices, Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) increases the prices of various steel products by around INR 1,200-1,500/MT for Nov’16 delivery, according to sources.
Coking coal prices rose to over $200/MT now from $92/MT in July mainly because of higher demand from China amidst subdued local supply.
Over the last couple of months, RINL had hiked its prices by INR 2,000-3,000 /MT.
RINL is a state owned unit and one of the largest long steel producer in India with an installed capacity of 6.3 MnT per annum.
