The Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climatic Change (MoEF&CC) has granted environmental clearance to the Bilaspur-based Phil Coal Beneficiation Private Limited for setting up a Coal Washery of 2.5 MnT capacity at the Ghutku village in Bilaspur of the Chhattisgarh state.
Coal for the washery will be sourced from the Dipka, Gevra, Kusmunda and other mines of South Eastern Coalfields Limited.
Remarkably, the company has already sign agreements with KSK Energy Ventures Limited and Jaiprakash Power Venture Limited for supplying the washed coal.
Coal washing has gained much attention these days. The public sector coal major—Coal India Limited—is in the initial stages of setting up 15 new Coal Washeries in India.
