Petcoke imports into India dipped by around 19.5% in Oct’16 in comparison with that in Sep’16. The month-on-month decline in the imports could be attributed to the shortages prevailed in the key international markets.
According to CoalMint Research, 1.15 MnT of Petcoke was imported into India during Oct’16; that had fallen behind the imports in the previous month, at 1.43 MnT.

A region-wise assessment of the imports during Oct’16 shows that USA accounted for the largest share in the imports, followed by Saudi Arabia.

Amongst the ports in the country, the Kandla port had handled the highest volume of imports during Oct’15.

The importers during the month were: Swiss Singapore, India Cement, Ambuja Cement, Ultratech Cement, Dalmia Cement, Balaji Coal, Shri Cement, Rain CII, JK Cement, among others.
