Indian Petcoke prices have been unchanged since 1Apr’16 despite prevalence of strong demand and shortage.
Domestic producers had last revised their ex-work prices to INR 4,150/MT (Reliance) and INR 4,140/MT(Essar).
In the meantime, supply disruption has raised import offers from the key regions—Saudi Arabia and theUS.
According to a reputed importer, offers of Petcoke with 6.5% Sulphur from USA have gone up to USD 51-52/MT, CFR India.While, offers of materials with 9% Sulphur from Saudi Arabia have moved up to USD 46-47/MT, CFR India.
The incremental import offers also subtly indicated that domestic producers are going to hike their ex-work prices in the near future.
