Pakistan’s thermal coal imports dropped by 38% m-o-m to 0.58 mnt in Feb’24 as against 0.95 mnt in Jan’24. South Africa (down by 34%) was the largest exporter at 0.30 mnt followed by Indonesia at 0.22 mnt and Tanzania at 0.06 mnt. Imports from Indonesia dropped by 19% m-o-m as compared to 0.28 mnt in the previous month. Additionally, no shipments were observed from Japan, the US, and Mozambique in Feb’24.
