India: IOCL reduces pet coke prices at various refineries from Mar’24

IOCL reduces RPC prices by INR 700/t due to international market, subdued demand, refinery inventory

RPC price at Koyali continued to be higher than Barauni by Rs 1,680/t

Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has reduced prices of raw petroleum coke (RPC) by INR 700/t with effect from 1 March, 2024.

The price has decreased this month at all refineries by the same amount of INR 700/t except at Barauni whose prices dropped by INR 2,300/t.

Notably, RPC price at Koyali continued to be higher than Barauni by Rs 1,680/t which was higher by Rs 620/t in the last month. Koyali material is regarded as of lower quality, and it was previously ranked lower than Barauni. However, there has been no regular sale/production of RPC for several months, and some stock has been held for several months. Sulphur in RPC at Bongaigaon has gradually increased due to use of imported crude and has increased up to 1.1 to 1.2%, which used to be less than 1%., that is around 0.8%.

There was a quality differential of INR 500/t for each grade. The price of base Grade B was the lowest, and price of Grade A was higher by INR 500/t. Price of premium grade was further higher by INR 500/t as compared to Grade A. List prices of different grades of RPC from various refineries of IOCL are given below:

IOCL slashes fuel grade pet coke prices by up to INR 710/t for Feb’24

Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has decreased fuel grade pet coke prices for February, 2024. Prices at Koyali refinery for road delivery fell to INR 11,670/t against last price of INR 12,380/t. Prices in Panipat refinery dropped to INR 12,780, Paradip to INR 10,820 and Haldia to INR 10,990/t. Rake prices have seen a decline of INR 660- 710/t at Koyali, Paradip, and Haldia.
