Despite the hike in coal prices in Afghanistan, Pakistan’s large-scale cement companies continue to procure Afghan coal as it is still competitive against other origins material. Pakistan-based Cherat Cement and Lucky Cement are among the major companies that have imported 10,000 t of coal from Afghanistan recently. The local price of Afghan coal was heard at $188/t this week.
