Pakistan: Bulk HRC imports down 44% on month in Jun ’21

Pakistan’s bulk HRC import volumes stood at 69,112 t in Jun ’21, plunging 44% in comparison with 124,090 t a month ago, as per bulk shipments data maintained with SteelMint.

• Pakistan imported higher quantities from Taiwan followed by Japan and Saudi Arabia in Jun.
• Average monthly HRC export offers from China stood at $968/t CFR in Jun as against $1,045/t a month ago.
• Import volumes declined majorly due to subdued demand triggered by Covid-19 in the Southeast Asian countries.
