Only 35% Chrome ore was booked in the OMC chrome ore e-auction held on 15 Dec’15.
Despite reducing the base price, OMC managed to sell only 35% of the total chrome ore it had offered during the December round of e-auction. While the miner offered total 29,300 MT of chrome ore (including Concentrate), booking was done for only 10,400 MT and bids were not received for the rest 18,900 MT.
While, VISA steel has booked 3,000 MT, JSL has booked 1,500 MT. Jammu-based Tawi Chemicals booked 1,200 MT, PL Alloys has booked 1,500 MT and Indotherm Chemicals has booked 800 MT of the material.
OMC had auctioned total 29,300 MT of Chrome ore on 15 Dec’15, out of which 27,300 MT are friable chrome ore of different grades and 2,000 MT of Chrome ore Concentrate of different grades. For this e-auction OMC had reduced base price by upto 27%. However, the reduction in base price could not generate much enthusiasm among the buyers.
