National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) has kept iron ore prices unchanged for Jan’16 deliveries. The miner had cut lump prices by upto INR 360/MT and kept fines prices unchanged for Dec’15.

On a monthly basis, NMDC iron ore production and sale figures moved up by 7% and 30.6% respectively in Dec’15. NMDC iron ore production and sales stood at 2.58 MnT & 2.6 MnT respectively in Dec’15.
Iron ore sales from NMDC Bailadila mines increased in Dec’15. NMDC supplied 69 rakes of iron ore to Chhattisgarh based plants from its Bailadila mines unlike 13 rakes in Nov’15. However, procurement from outside Chhattisgarh units dropped from 175 rakes in Nov’15 to 155 rakes in Dec’15.
NMDC’s iron ore sales via Karnataka e-auctions also increased last month. The miner sold 1.25 MnT iron ore via Karnataka e-auctions in Dec’15 against 1.06 MnT in Nov’15.
