Bhubaneswar; Despite facing a host of problems to materialize investment proposals in the steel and mines sector, Odisha has continued to attract investments in the sector.
The State Level Task Force Committee on Steel has received several proposals and recommended 10 new proposals for pellets and beneficiation projects worth Rs 10,000 crore to the State Single Window Committee (SLWC) for further examination and approval.
Rajesh Verma, Principal Secretary Steel & Mines chaired the meeting, which cleared the proposals on a faster pace.
Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, Principal Secretary Water Resources, G Mathivathanan, CMD IPICOL and other senior bureaucrats attended the meeting. B N Palai, General Manager, IPICOL presented the detailed status of the proposal, which received the nod of Task Force.
Mr.Verma later speaking to Media said, “We discussed about 10 new proposals mainly about pellet and beneficiation plants.
The committee has recommended those proposals worth Rs 10,000 crore to the State Single Window Clearance Authority for due consideration.â€Â
Sources said the proposals recommended by the Task Force committee included the 1.20mtpa Pellet Plant proposed by M/S Fortune Iron & Steel Limited at Haridajodi in Keonjhar district with an investment of Rs 225 crore and the 1.20 mtpa pelletisation plant of M/S Sushant Minerals (P) Ltd at Sana Indupur and Bada Indupur in Koira Tehsil in Sundargarh district with an investment of Rs 220 crore.
Sources added the proposal of SAB Energy & Minerals Ltd for establishment of 5 MTPA Iron Ore Beneficiation Plant, 3 MTPA Pellet Plant & 0.42 Sinter Plant at Dhanurjaypur in Keonjhar district with an investment of Rs 248 crore got cleared.
Kalinga Steeltech (P) Ltd to set up 1.2 MTPA Integrated Steel Plant at Kudabaga in Sundargarh at an investment of Rs 7213.17 crore received green signal.
Altrade Iron & Power Ltd to set up 1.20 mtpa Pellet Plant & 20 MW Captive Power Plant at Baliarpur in Bhadrak with an investment of Rs 670.56 crore received the nod.
