Dispatches of chrome ore by Odisha miners have increased by almost 19% in May’17 against Apr’17.
Odisha contributes entirely towards Indian Chrome Ore production. TATA Steel being one of the largest miners in the region dispatched 98,563 MT of chrome ore in May’17 against 88,654 in Apr’17. The company has witnessed a substantial increase of about 11% in dispatch of the material on M-o-M basis. The organization held 10,064 MT for captive consumption in May’17 which is around 21% higher than it was in Apr’17.
However, OMC recorded a substantial decrease of 21% M-o-M in its May’17 chrome ore dispatches. OMC dispatched 53,695 MT of Chrome Ore in May’17 against 68,340 MT in Apr’17.
