North India – Pig iron prices likely to remain supported on supply shortage

Ludhiana (Punjab) based sellers reported a shortage of pig iron specifically of foundry grade, which is delivered through rakes from the western & eastern India based plants. As per them, about 3 rakes (equivalent to 7,500 t) of foundry pig iron deliveries are stuck due to ongoing farmers strike resulting in lower inventories. Today, offers for fresh bookings were reported at INR 34,000/t against INR 33,600-33,800/t yesterday, DAP Ludhiana.
