Iron ore supply from NMDC’s Bailadila mines in Chhattisgarh moved up marginally in Jul’16. NMDC dispatched 271 rakes in Jul’16 compared to 255 rakes in Jun’16.
Significant increase in iron ore sourcing of JSW Steel, Dolvi from NMDC’s Bailadila mines was noticed in Jul’16. While its sourcing from NMDC (C.G.) was nil in Jun’16, the steel maker sourced 65 rakes of iron ore from NMDC (C.G.) in Jul’16. However Vizag Steel’s iron ore sourcing fell considerably by 31% M-o-M to 102 rakes in Jul’16. Essar Steel which usually procures iron ore from NMDC (C.G.) via slurry pipeline moved five rakes to its Vizag pellet plant.
Chhattisgarh based sponge units procured 53 rakes from NMDC (C.G.) in Jul’16 against 56 rakes in Jun’16.
Iron ore movement for export was down by 21% M-o-M in Jul’16. The miner loaded 33 rakes in Jul’16 compared to 42 rakes in Jun’16.
