Iron ore supply from NMDC’s Chhattisgarh Bailadila mines remained mostly stable on monthly premises. NMDC dispatched 263 rakes in Jun’16 compared to 272 rakes in May’16.
Within state based units procured 56 rakes in Jun’16 against 62 rakes in May’16. In the month of Jun’16, NMDC (C.G.) had cut prices by INR 180-230/MT M-o-M in Jun’16 which kept buying interest of Chhattisgarh based units intact.
Outside Chhattisgarh based units sourced 157 rakes of iron ore in Jun’16. JSW Steel, Dolvi which has remained a major buyer from NMDC Chhattisgarh did not source a single iron ore rake in Jun’16. It had procured 32 iron ore rakes in May’16. The steel giant was seen sourcing ore from Odisha amid cost effectiveness.
Vizag Steel’s iron ore sourcing moved up by 19% M-o-M in Jun’16. Its sourcing increased from 124 rakes in May’16 to 147 in Jun’16.
Iron ore rake movement for export remained firm on monthly basis. NMDC supplied 50 rakes for export in Jun’16 compared to 51 rakes in May’16.
