NMDC: Iron Ore Production Soar to 34 MnT in FY17

India’s largest iron ore producer – National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) has recorded highest ever iron ore production in FY17. As per company officials report to SteelMint, NMDC’s iron ore production increased by 19% Y-o-Y from 28.57 MnT in FY16 to 34 MnT in FY17.

During Apr-Feb’17, NMDC’s iron ore production was 30.33 MnT. Out of which 19.41 MnT iron ore was produced from its Bailadila mines in Chhattisgarh and rest 10.92 MnT was produced from Karnataka mines.

In Mar’17, NMDC produced 3.65 MnT iron ore, up 13% M-o-M. In Feb’17, NMDC’s iron ore production stood at 3.23 MnT.

Comparing on quarterly basis, miner’s iron ore production moved up by 9% Q-o-Q to 10.5 MnT in Q4 FY17.

NMDC’s iron ore sales up by 23% in FY17 – As per reports, NMDC’s iron ore sales were recorded at 35.6 MnT in FY17 compared to 28.84 MnT in FY16. Thus on yearly premises, NMDC;’s iron ore sales have augmented by 23% Y-o-Y.
