NINL is to declare Pig Iron (steel) prices for January 2013 on the 7th. Prices are standing at Rs 22,500/MT (Ex Cuttack, Odisha) w.e.f Dec 19, 2012, after being reduced by Rs 1,000/MT.
“The open tender of 1,00,000 tons of Pig Iron in two lots of 50,000 tons each, floated by RINL in domestic market has not fetched high bids.
A state owned and a private company are ready to purchase the material at around Rs 21,000 (Ex works Vizag, Andhra Pradesh).
The company is yet to decide on the same as prices are not up to expectations and might declare results on Jan 7″, said officials.
