New rail link inaugurated in Odisha to enable 40,000 t daily coal despatch

Angul-Balram 14-km rail link in Odisha was inaugurated on 29 Dec’22. This will enable 40,000 t of daily coal evacuation from Talcher coalfields of Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL). The rail link is constructed at a cost of INR 300 crore. It is the first phase of a total 68-km-long Inner Corridor – Angul, Balram, Putugadia, Jarapada and Tentuloi.
