MMTC, India’s largest international trading company, has extended bid opening date & time for its 1 MnT Steam coal import tender by a week.
The tender bid is expected to open on 16 Jan, 2015 at 15:00 hrs IST, which was earlier scheduled on 8 Jan, 2015 at 14:30 hrs IST.
All other terms & conditions of the tender remain the same.
According to sources, “MMTC has rescheduled date and time for 1 MnT Steam Coal import tender as overseas coal suppliers have asked the former for some more time because of new year holidays.”
MMTC is to procure 1 MnT (+/-10%) imported coal for Aravali Power Company Private Limited (APCPL) for its Indira Gandhi Super Thermal Power Project (IGSTPP), Jharli District, Jhajjar (3×500 MW), Haryana on ‘FoR Destination’ basis through Indian Ports.
Suppliers’ scope of work includes import of 1 MnT (+/- 10%) Steam coal to Indian Ports, arranging vessels, stevedoring, handling, storage, port clearances, arranging Railway rakes, loading, transportation and delivery at IGSTPP, Jhajjar arranging vessels, stevedoring, handling, storage, port clearances, arranging railway rakes, loading, transportation and delivery.
All other activities for clearing and forwarding of the consignments like customs clearance, coordination with Port, Railway and any statutory authorities shall also be part of bidder’s scope of work.
As per SteelMint statistics, India has imported nearly 174 MnT Coal in Apr-Dec’14. Out of this, 106 MnT has been supplied from Indonesia.
