Manufacturers in India speed up with procedure for BIS norms; little impact seen

“As the Indian steel ministry has made BIS certification mandatory, many small and medium steel manufacturers have starting applying for BIS certification. Though, not much impact is seen in the market and trades are taking place as usual”, reported market sources.    

“We are applying for BIS standards in grade 2830 and 2831 and DIC, a non technical group is looking at it. We expect BIS norms assured materials in Government projects in the long term”, said Ingot manufacturers at Raipur.
