Malaysian origin Ferro Silicon is arriving at various Indian ports like Kolkata, JNPT and Vizag consistently every month. For Silicon (Si) content 70% min., CIF price was close to USD 950/MT in the month of December’15. Ferro silicon imports in India are duty-free from Malaysia, in accordance with the trade agreement singed by the Government for AESEAN countries w.e.f 1 Jan 2015.
Also, In January’16 (for data collected till the 15th of January) close to 2,473 MT of Malaysian origin Ferro Silicon has arrived at various Indian ports, and more than half of it has arrived at Vizag port. For Silicon (Si) content 70% material, the CIF price is around USD 940 /MT.
During the same period, Indian and Bhutanese Ferro Silicon offers have also been steadily coming down.
