As per the recent trade data released by Brazil Customs, Brazil exported around 374 MnT Iron ore in CY’16, registered a growth of 2% Y-o-Y against 367 MnT in CY’15. The country witnessed a consistent growth in Iron ore export since CY’10.
Major Export Destinations:
China was the biggest buyer of Brazilian Iron Ore during CY’16, Brazil exported around 215 MnT to China. Japan, Malaysia, Netherlands and South Korea were the other major export destination for Brazil.
Major Shippers of Brazilian Iron Ore:
Vale remained the largest shipper of Iron ore from Brazil with exports of 306 MnT during CY’16, other major shippers were CSN, Anglo and Trafigura.
Major Receivers of Brazilian Iron Ore:
Nippon Steel was the biggest receiver of Brazilian Iron Ore during CY’16, the company received around 19 MnT Iron ore in CY’16. Other major receivers include ArcelorMittal, Thyssenkrupp, Vale, Tata Steel and Posco.
