LME halts nickel trading again due to technical issues in electronic system

  • The London Metal Exchange (LME) halted nickel trading on its electronic system shortly after it reopened on 16 Mar’22 after technical issues allowed a small number of trades to be executed below the new daily price limit, SteelMint learnt.
  • Trading briefly restarted at 8 a.m. on Wednesday and nickel futures immediately fell through the 5% daily limit before the market was suspended again.
