JSW Steel Ships 30,000 MT HBI to Kuwait- Sources

JSW Steel, India’s largest steel producer, has a shipment of 30,000 MT HBI (Hot Briquetted Iron) from its Dolvi plant to Kuwait, according to sources.

At Revdanda port (near Pune, Maharashtra) has one export vessel namely Vinayak for HBI that is expected to complete loading till 12 Feb’17 for the destination Kuwait ( Shuaiba port).

As per sources, JSW had a deal of HBI to Kuwait steel, while the sourcing plant was mostly procuring HBI from Oman based Jindal Steel & power but owing to disturbances in supply chain exports were from India. JSW also export HBI on regular basis qty 30,000 MT monthly.

According to sources, cargo has been sold at a price of USD 255-260/MT (INR 17,000-17,500/MT), FoB India. Presently JSW Steel also offer D-RI FeM 84% in domestic market approximately at INR 17,500/MT ex-works. (ED, VAT extra)

Containerized HMS 80:20 offers are assessed at USD 240-245/MT, shredded scrap at USD 265-270/MT CNF India and MS Billet at USD 390-395/MT, FoB India. While, export offers of C-DRI (sponge) by East Indian based manufacturers for lumps are prevailing at USD 240-245/MT CNF Benapole port Bangladesh.
