JSPL’s crude steel production at over 1.3 mn t in Apr-May ’21

Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) has reported strong steel production so far in FY ’22. The company’s crude steel production increased by 31% y-o-y to 1.371 mn t in Apr-May ’21 compared to 1.044 mn t in the same period last year, as per the company’s latest BSE filing.

Month-wise output:

• In Apr, crude steel output stood at 0.681 mn t – up by 24% y-o-y
• In May, output stood at 0.690 mn t – up by 40% y-o-y

With the COVID-19 situation improving, JSPL’s production target is 8-8.5 mn t in FY ’22.
